Clinic

Our clinic opened in 2006, with a small grant from the H.D. Fowler Company. Our clinic is in a central area, within walking distance of many community members who did not previously have access to medical services. Staffed by a registered nurse, the clinic treats wounds, malaria and other common diseases; tests patients for HIV/AIDS; and offers pre- and post-natal care to hundreds of women in the community.

In conjunction with the public dispensary in Takaungu and our Community Health Workers, our clinic is holding outreach days in nearby areas that have no public or private health services. The public dispensary provides free drugs for these events, and the EAC provides the transportation and the manpower, by sending our nurse and half of our CHW’s to help with patient intake. At these events, the nurse and CHWs monitor the growth of children in the area, give out malaria medication, test patients for HIV/AIDS, and treat general medical problems.
