We have recently completed construction on our new health clinic which will be located at Vutakaka Center. The clinic houses two exam rooms and one storage room. We hope to open the facility to the community for health services in August of 2006.
The Vutakaka Clinic will provide basic health services and focus largely on connecting pre- and post-natal women with HIV/AIDS information to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS. View a photo album of the new clinic.
Rotary Provides EAC with Cold Storage.
Thanks to the generous support of the West Seattle Rotary and Rotary International, the EAC will now have a cold storage unit for it's newly constructed health clinic. The new cold storage unit will ensure that the health clinic's essential medical supplies are stored in the appropriate climate. Rotary has also provided us with sewing machines for our women’s sewing program as well as much needed office equipment. Thank you Rotary!
Milk Goat Project.
Help the EAC get milk goats into the hands of literally hundreds of community members here in Takaungu, Kenya. Goat milk is highly nutritious and milk goats are easy to care for in this environment. We are currently looking for funds to purchase our initial stock of milk goats which the EAC will breed and then distribute the offspring to members of our brand new milk goat cooperative.
