Where is the EAC located?

Our clinic and school are located and provide services for individuals in Takaungu, Kenya.  Takaungu is on the East Coast of Kenya about one hour north of Mombasa in the Kilifi district.  Our headquarters (one small office) are in Seattle, Washington.

Are there internship or volunteer opportunities at the EAC?

Yes!  We have had a number of succesful volunteers and interns support our organization in Takaungu as well as Seattle.  Interns have helped administer health screenings, conduct health interviews and needs assesments, taught math and english classes, and worked with the local fishing and sewing cooperatives to strengthen their organization to name a few projects.  For 2009, we are accepting applications for graduate interns.  Please contact intern [at] eastafricancenter [dot] org if you have any questions about this opportunity.
